Summary and Comparison

Interviewing McKay proved to be no shock in the sterotypical boy and his perspective on fashion. McKay, I'm sure like many other guys, does not really care about clothing and fashion and not spend nearly as much time or effort as the average female. I had never noticed because, in my opinion, he dresses well. Although he does not dress so well as to be noticable, he does not dress poorly enough to stand out. I would say he dresses average. Unlike McKay, clothing is very important in my life. I, unfortunately, am not an artistic or creative person. Fashion is my means of creativity and self-expression. It defines me and those around me. Although I wish I spent five minutes a day deciding what to wear like McKay, my time is much closer to thirty minutes. I am a firm believer that the way you dress (and therefore portray yourself) will affect your relationships and opportunities. People do, in fact, judge you based off of how you look. I dress well so that people respect and even look up to me. I hope to one day be a succesfull professional, so dress like I am every day. I did mention that I dress to make a good impression, but ultimaltey, what I end up wearing is what I want to wear. I will NEVER dress for other people (unless it is my mom) if I don't feel comfortable and myself in the clothing. I agree with McKay that clothing puts me into a social category which influence the way I dress. I catogorized myself as a combination spender, but my friends (including McKay) argued, saying I was definitely a big spender.  Words that describe my style would be classic, basic, and flattering. And finally, unlike McKay, the most important factor to me in clothing is quality- I will spend whatever a product is worth. Often you end up saving money by splurging on quality, durable items! It was interesting to compare my ideas of fashion to a male's. I definitely think males are more confined in fashion and therefore should have less motivation to care.

I forgot to take a photo of the interview, but here is a photo of my interviewee and "friend", McKay, and I.
